Electric motorbike to be released in 2011

The first fully electric motorbike MIUS 4.0 will be released for sale in Catalonia in 2011. It will be the joint effort of 6 Catalan companies and the Catalan government and will be sold for 4,500 euros, 300 euros less than a similar conventional motorbike. The MIUS 4.0 has been designed for the urban environment, requires 6 hours of charging and has an autonomy of 50 km. It will be officially presented at the 68th International Motorcycle Exhibition (EICMA MOTO) that will be held at the Fiera Milano on Nov 2nd-7th, 2010.

The Pyrenean and Pre-Pyrenean counties of Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà, Alt Urgell, Alta Ribagorça, Val d'Aran, Solsonès, Berguedà, Garrotxa, Alt Empordà, Cerdanya and Ripollès are starting a joint effort for food branding in order to achieve a broader outreach of their gastronomic products. This new Pyrenees brand will also help advertise other attractions of the area, from romanesque architecture to ski stations or to hiking trails in the mountains.

Mango aimed at becoming one of the top 3 clothing companies in the world

Isak Andic, president of Catalan clothing store Mango, announced the will of the company to become one of the top 3 clothing companies in the world. Mango is devoted to doubling sales in 4 years after implementing its plan to open 400 new stores in 2011 which will add to the already existing 1,200 stores in 105 countries. China alone has already 100 Mango stores and there will be 250 more in the next few years.

Industrial bakery company Inpanasa reinforces exports to Asia

Starting next month, industrial bakery company Inpanasa (Aiguaviva, Girona) will reinforce exports to Israel and Asia (mainly China). Until now, the company has been exporting to 20 countries, mostly from the European Union, and is aimed at exploring new markets for its products. Recent investment of 200,000 euros will provide a better wrapping and a greater protection for the finished products.
