Sabadell Chamber of Commerce and Industry organizes commercial mission to China

The Sabadell Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing a commercial mission to China for April 15-21, 2012, specially addressed to companies of the following sectors: automotive, construction materials, engineering, electrical, plastics, chemical and consumer products. This mission has the support of the ACC1Ó office in Shanghai. The goals of this mission are: i) to promote Catalan companies in China; ii) to support the internationalization of Catalan companies; iii) to promote strategic alliances with Chinese partners; and iv) to evaluate potential investments in situ. Chinese-Catalan TV series starts on July 18th on Catalan channel TV3

A truly original TV series will start being broadcast on July 18th on TV3, the publicly owned Catalan channel. This new TV series is a co-production by China and Catalonia and will be offered during the early aftenoon prime time of the summer 2011. Its title is "Secrets de Xangai" (Secrets of Shanghai), is mainly focused on human relationships (love, passion, intrigue) and consists of 23 episodes. The only Catalan main role is played by actress Montse Alcoverro, who's character is a Catalan woman that lives in Barcelona and that is married to a man that left China more than 20 years ago and that has been able to create a big company in Spain. The pleasant life of the couple, that has a 20-year old son named Josep, is broken when the husband decides to go back to China to look for the woman and the wife he left there.

The series has already been broadcast during February and March 2011 in China, on the Dragon TV channel, and has been followed by more than 100 million fans. It was originally filmed in English and the length of the chapters has been adapted for the different tastes of the audiences -shorter episodes in Catalonia and longer in China-.

Catalan government promotes food products in China

Top officers from the Department of Agriculture of the Catalan government are visiting China with the intention to promote Catalan food products there, specially in the Shanghai area. This delegation is led by Domènec Vila, General Director of Food, Quality and Food Industries, who travels together with twelve representatives from Catalan food companies. They all will also attend the Sial 2011 fair that is held in Shanghai from May 18th to 20th. Sial 2011 is the largest and fastest growing food and beverage show in China, with more than 1,500 exhibitors from more than 80 countries and regions, and with more than 35,000 visitors expected.

Mango presents collection in Shanghai for the first time

Catalan clothing company Mango has made a bold move by not choosing Paris or Milano to present their collections abroad, but by choosing Istanbul, Moscow and Shanghai. On March 19th, 2011, Mango presented for the first time his collection in China, where it has 134 shops and were it has opened a new office in Shanghai, as explained in a previous post at sinalunya.com.

Polymita will open offices in Shanghai

Catalan technological company Polymita is determined to establish offices in Shanghai by the end of 2011, in order to be closer to clients in that area. These new offices in China will add to those already existing in New York, London, Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Madrid and Amsterdam. As explained in their website, Polymita is "an Enterprise Software Company that helps companies to improve their productivity by automating business processes and managing enterprise contents and portals". Polymita, that in 2010 saw a global increase of 20% in sales, will improve the chances of growth in Asia that until now had through the German company Bertelsmann.
