Taiwan business indicators in August 2010 reflect economy's stready growth

Self-employed Chinese workers double the percentage of native Catalan workers

According to a press release by the Secretariat for Immigration of the Generalitat de Catalunya on the situation of the Chinese citizens in Catalonia, the percentage of Chinese self-employed workers (30.6%) nearly doubles that of the native Catalan workers (17.2%) and is three times larger the one corresponding to the overall foreign population (10%). Chinese economy slows down... to 9.6% growth

Despite the reduction in growth from the 11.9% of the first quarter of 2010 to the 9.6% of the third quarter, Chinese economy is still growing at a rate higher than the official target of 8%. Both Chinese officials and international analysts are pleased with these figures, since they show a more balanced and mature growth for Chinese economy. Forecasts for growth in the 2011-2015 are estimated at an average of 7.5%.

Tourism rises in Catalonia in September

Tourism activity has increased by 9% during September 2010 as compared to the same month of last year, according to the figures released by the Catalan Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce. Since the beginning of 2010, the overall increase in visitors to Catalonia is estimated at 3.7%, which represents more than 10 million tourists in these first 9 months.
