Mercè Carreras-Solanas and Yuwen Wu have created the Barcelona-Shanghai Women Bridge as a tool to gather entrepreneurial women from different generations and different activities that are residing in the areas of influence of each of these two cities. The goal of their project is to raise the level of trust between the two cultures, to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology and to share values. Their friendship started in 2009, when Mercè Carreras-Solanas, teacher of Economic Theory at the University of Barcelona, travelled to Shanghai and met Yuwen Wu, discovering that they shared similar values and similar life attitudes. They also think that Shanghai and Barcelona have some similarities, since they are both innovative and dynamic cities, with a long-time cultural tradition but at the same time with a clear determination for internationalization. For further information on their project and their activities, you can also visit their website, their blog or follow them on Twitter, at BSWomenB.
