Volkswagen-owned Spanish car maker SEAT announced that will start selling cars in China by 2012. As a first step, the company will attend the 2011 Auto Shanghai on April 21st to 28th. SEAT president, James Muir, announced that the cars to be sold initially in China will be produced in the Martorell factory (Barcelona province). These future sales in China are expected to help SEAT get away from red numbers (311 million euros of losses in 2010) and return to benefits by 2013, as announced by Hans Dieter Pötsch, finantial director at Volkswagen. In contrast, 2010 was the best year in history of Volkswagen, with a net profit of 7.2 billion euros, an eight-fold increase from 2009.
